Attention deficit disorder seems to be one of the conditions that seem to be affecting our children a lot these days. The reasons behind this have yet not been established unequivocally but experts say that it could b due to pollution, inadequate nutrition, allergies or genetic predisposition.

Due to some of these statements and the side effects that parents can see in their children there is a movement towards evaluating and trying out alternate treatments for all conditions including attention deficit disorder. While some people opt for an herbal remedy for ADD , there are others that look for a solution in homeopathy.
Specifically speaking, homeopathy is fast increasing in popularity and for once the traditionalists are also accepting the successes that the stream of medicine is achieving. The homeopathic practitioners have also woken up and are conducting many clinical trials to prove the efficacy of their medication and approach.
When a case of ADD is referred to a homeopath, he does not only treat the condition but the individual who had the problem. He tries to bring the individual to a balanced state by studying the pattern of symptoms of the person. Though there are many medicines in homeopathy that can be used to treat ADD there is only that will match the unique set of symptoms for a particular person.
The approach that homeopathy takes is a holistic one in which various other behaviors and preferences are also taken into account. The doctor will study multiple aspects like whether the patient prefers cold beverages or hot, the kind of dreams he has, various fears and phobias and also whether there has been a history of any specific health condition that may or may not be linked to ADD.
That is why there are various medicines that can actually be used for ADD and the right one can only be decided by the homeopathy practitioner after studying the specific characteristics and symptoms of the individual. Homeopaths may prescribe Adrenocorticotropin Hormone as an anti allergy, L Dopa Phenolic for chronic anxiety and depression, Gamma Aminobutyric Acid Phenolic to reduce bouts of anger and hostility or Calcarea Carbonica for apprehensions and worries.
