Depression And Premature Ejaculation

Men who suffer from depression may also have problems with premature ejaculation. Depression is a condition that can affect many different parts of a person’s life and can contribute to a wide range of other conditions like premature ejaculation and other sexual dysfunctions.

Doctors are still learning about the many ways that depression can affect the body and developing problems like premature ejaculation is one way that depression affects men.

Depression is one of the biggest causes of premature ejaculation along with anxiety and stress. Most men don’t realize that their sexual health is tied very closely to their physical and psychological health and if they are suffering from depression, ADD, ADHD, anxiety or other conditions that sexual dysfunctions like premature ejaculation or sometimes impotence can result.

Sometimes premature ejaculation can also be a side effect of one or more of the drugs used to treat conditions like depression or anxiety. If you are concerned that your medication may be causing you to have premature ejaculations then you should talk to your doctor about putting you on another medication that won’t have that side effect or maybe taking another drug that might counter act that side effect.

It’s easy for men to become depressed when they are experiencing sexual dysfunction like premature ejaculation but it’s important to know if your depression is a result of your premature ejaculation or the cause of it.

In order to make sure that you don’t have a serious underlying problem with depression if the problem lasts for a long time you should see a doctor to determine if you need to be treated for depression. Getting treatment for your depression is no guaranty that your problem with premature ejaculation will end but it’s a good place to start.

You should also try to just relax. Most people suffer from mild depression at some point in their lives and are able to resolve the problem without resorting to medication. If you are feeling depressed it may just be a temporary condition caused by a trigger or stress in your life. Eliminating the stress may help eliminate the depression and the premature ejaculation.

To combat depression try making some changes in your diet. Diets that are high in sugar, salt, fat and processes foods can often lead to depression, irritability and other conditions. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains and natural foods can make a big difference in your fight against depression. Being healthy is always a good idea when you are trying to fight off illness.

Another way to fight depression that can lead to premature ejaculation is through exercise. Most people don’t get nearly enough exercise. Studies have shown that people who exercise on a regular basis are less likely to suffer from conditions like depression and the conditions associated with depression.

You don’t need to become a hard core fitness buff in order to work more exercise into your daily routine. A walk around the blog or a bike ride to the store can make a big difference in how you feel from day to day.
